BSS are currently seeking to recruit for the following positions:
Experienced Cladding Design Engineer
You will primarily be required to produce (in AutoCAD) detailed Designs / Working Drawings for building envelope systems including Roofing, Cladding, Rainwater Goods, Rainscreens, etc. as well as providing material schedules for Purchasing.
You will be required to carry out occasional Site Surveys
- Based in Carlisle
- Competitive salary, 4 x Salary Life Cover, PMI
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- AutoCAD Proficient
- Experience in Roofing and Cladding is essential
- Experience of liaising / attending meetings with Architects, Engineers, Main Contractors, etc.
- Ability to deliver designs within deadlines required
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of Structural Steelwork preferred
Tekla Structures Detailer
You will primarily be required to produce models for Structural Steel Framed Buildings using Tekla Structures, create Fabrication Drawings and Material Schedules.
When required, you will work closely with our Cladding Technical Department to develop Details; there will be occasional Site Surveys and Design Team Meetings to attend.

Desired Skills and Expertise:
- Tekla Structures proficient
- Experience with different types of buildings, e.g. Portal Frames, Office Blocks, Truss Frames, Staircases, Gantries, etc.
- Experience of liaising directly with Architects, Engineers, Main Contractors, etc.
- Ability to deliver Details within deadlines required
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of basic Cladding Details preferred
- Knowledge of working with BIM preferred
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 preferred
Experienced Roofing/Cladding Fixer
- Top Rates + Pension Scheme + BUPA
Applicants must hold:
- CPCS/IPAF MEWP operator card
- Current CSCS card in their respective occupation
Steel Erector
- Top Rates + Pension Scheme + BUPA
Applicants must hold:
- CSCS Slinger Signallers qualification
- CPCS/IPAF MEWP operators cards
- Current CSCS cards in their respective occupations
